ALPACA FIBER IS THE MOST SUSTAINABLE IN THE WORLD. THIS ARGUMENT IS BASED UPON FOUR OF ITS PROPERTIES:
1.DURABLE & BIODEGRADABLE
In a context where the fashion industry is increasingly disposable and synthetic, alpaca is a natural and extremely durable alternative.
2.THE RANGE OF NATURAL COLORS
With the largest number of natural colors available compared to any other fiber, alpaca offers the possibility of creating versatile and truly eco-friendly collections.
3.SOIL AND WATER FRIENDLY
Alpacas eat natural grasses, so no land or water is required to harvest their food. In addition, when feeding they do not damage the soil, nor the pastures, adapting and contributing to the well-being of their ecosystems.
4.CRUELTY-FREE
The alpaca has been a domesticated animal for over 4,000 years. As such, it requires shepherds and the shearing process to survive. All our suppliers follow the protocol of “The Technical Standard for Shearing and Handling of Alpaca Fiber Fleece”, approved by the Peruvian Ministry of Production (INACAL).
